We are accepting applications for a full-time, hourly Brewer position at Omega Yeast Labs in Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily production of wort on a four-vessel automated brewhouse
- Performs CIP/SIP on propagation vessels and brewhouse according to SOPs
- Monitors the brewing process through regular testing and troubleshoots any issues that arise
- Communicates across departments about changes in the production schedule
- Cooperates with laboratory staff to meet deadlines for commercial orders
- Completes documentation required to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
- Proactively addresses issues that may affect product quality, delivery delay, or employee safety
- Participates in ongoing efforts for continuous improvement in our processes
- Stays current with all SOPs and related documentation
- Cooperates with Production Assistants to ensure all necessary equipment is prepared and available when needed
- Cooperates with Production Office Coordinator to order supplies
- Maintains a clean and organized workplace
Requirements
- Passion for craft beer
- Brewing industry experience
- Adaptable and able to efficiently manage time and tasks
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends
- Able to lift 55 pounds repeatedly and maneuver up to 165 pounds
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Able to bend and kneel
- Able to spend long periods of time in hotter than comfortable environments
- Schedule of four 10 hour shifts inclusive of one weekend day
- Must be at least 21 years of age
