Position Objective

The Maintenance Technician will learn and perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual work in the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Observe mechanical equipment in operation and troubleshoot failure as required. Conduct maintenance of mechanical processes in a manner that will ensure the highest reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve issues.
  • Prioritize and organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to efficiently meet department goals.
  • Communicate progress reports for on-going projects and complete necessary documentation on maintenance logs.
  • Troubleshoot and service HVAC units as necessary.
  • Assist monitoring and maintaining an adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Maintain work premises, facilities and your work area clean and organized.
  • Adhere to all Quality, Safety, and GMP policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an on-call status for emergency repairs and for support with equipment troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the safe transport of materials and supplies between facilities.
  • Dismantle equipment to examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Perform basic electrical and instrumentation work and troubleshooting as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in maintenance coordination or related field.
  • Possess basic knowledge of electrical components for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Proficiency in HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and pipe repair.
  • Basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting.
  • Forklift certified.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 8 – 10 hours each day.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Must be able to work in a warm environment (up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit) for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work in a loud work environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office and plant environment.
  • On-site 5 days a week.

Hourly Rate

$26 – $28
