Position Objective

To effectively manage and oversee all financial aspects of the plant’s operations,
ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, cost management, budget
development, and profitability analysis. The Plant Controller will work closely with plant
management and other departments to optimize operations, improve profitability, and
ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ultimate goal is to
contribute to the plant’s overall efficiency and profitability, while maintaining the
highest standards of financial integrity and transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month end and year end close. Including journal entries, financial
    reviews, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with plant
    management.
  • Oversee all accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy and
    compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, and present findings and
    recommendations to management.
  • Analyze and report on product costs, margins, and inventory, with a focus on the
    specialized nature of yeast production.
  • Coordinate with other departments to gather data, optimize operations, and
    improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as food
    safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity and financial
    performance.
  • Evaluate and manage risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required; master’s degree and/or professional certifications (CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Experience in financial management, preferably in the food production industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards is a plus.
  • Seeking applicants with plant/manufacturing experience.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office and plant environment.
  • On-site 5 days a week.

Other Factors

Occasional travel to other plants and St. Louis corporate as needed.

Salary

$95,000 to $115,000
