From development of hybrid strains like our Saisonstein to being the first to offer commercial pitches of Norwegian kveik, we have been committed to research and innovation since we opened our doors nearly six years ago. So we are thrilled to announce that Laura Burns, PhD joins us this week as Director of Research & Development to lead and expand our cutting edge research projects. Many of you know Laura from her role as the Quality Assurance Chief/Head Brewer at Great Central Brewing Company in Chicago. Laura earned her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology from Vanderbilt University, where she studied cellular responses to stress in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. From her Ph.D. work, she started her first role in the brewing industry as Head Brewer and Director of Quality Assurance at Tennessee Brew Works in Nashville before joining Great Central in Chicago.
