Omega Yeast’s HotHead® is literally out of this world

A finalist in a Google competition to see a vehicle to the moon will take on board an experiment created by UC San Diego students to determine if beer can be brewed on the lunar surface.

University of California — San Diego student experimenters are sending our HotHead® strain on a series of low-gravity beer-brewing missions, and to the moon itself by the end of this year! The team is now in collaboration with the Synergy Moon project and will have access to advisement from NASA scientists. Check out this video in which the student team explains how this is even possible. Coolest beer ever!
