How to Omega
Resources
Here are some helpful tidbits to get you engrained in our culture. As always, we're here to be helpful.
Custom Propping
Why custom propping?
We time every prop backward from your brew day. That means shorter lag times, vigorous fermentation ,and yeast that's performing form the moment it hits your wort. And not recovering from weeks on a shelf.
What are lead times?
Lead times are typically one week from time of order to receipt. Custom propping allows us to offer every strain, year round, atny pitch size (1bbl+)
Saccharomyces: one week, any strain, any volume
Lacto: Next day, since it's made fresh everyday.
Brett: Lead times 7-10 days.
What if I need it faster than one week?
Pitches of our most popular strains, such as West Coast Ale, British V, German Lager, and Mexican Lager, are often available sooner. Just ask.
Ordering
How do I set up a professional or wholesale account?
Commercial pricing and standing orders run through a direct account. Send your brewery details through the Contact page and the team will get you set up. Or click here
Do I order directly from Omega?
Professional brewers order directly through an Omega account. Simply email orders@omegayeast.com
Homebrewers buy Omega through our retail partners — most homebrew shops stock our liquid and dry strains and can order in anything they don't carry.
Do you offer Lab Services for quality checks?
Of course. We offer a full range of Lab Services where we can help you investigate any potential quality issue and give you clarity. Visit our Lab Services page here
Shipping + Cold Chain
How do you ship liquid yeast?
Liquid yeast is a living culture, so probrew orders ship cold, packaged with ice packs and insulation to ensure peak freshness upon receipt.
Are all liquid pitches really custom propped?
Yes. We take your order and recipe details to ensure your yeast arrives on time and at peak freshness.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, for the most part. Our Engineered strains are approved market by market, so availability outside the US varies by strain and country. Our range of Standards are available globally.
Strains + Products
What makes the Engineered strain different?
Our Specials tier is where Omega's own innovation lives, and the Engineered series is the proprietary edge: familiar strains upgraded (the PLUS series, like West Coast I +) and novel originals (the NEXT series), carrying built-in technologies such as DKO for diacetyl control, Lumina for clarity, and thiol release for aromatics. Because these are engineered, they're approved region by region, so availability depends on where you brew.
What is Propper?
Propper is our range of fermentation supplements for unlocking your yeast capabilities, such as thiol amplifier for Thiolized yeast, Starter for homebrewers, Chiber for NA beer, and more.
How do I find the right strain?
The Yeast collection filters by the attributes that actually shape a beer — flocculation, attenuation, temperature range, tasting notes like dry, fruity, or funky, and the technologies built into a strain. Filter to your target profile, then open the strain page for its full character and specs.
Do you have Active Dry Yeast?
Yes, we have a range of dried strains to choose from such as Lutra and the PInnacle series. There's plenty of more incoming.
